Origin and founder
French Antique Store creates joy through curated experiences of French antiques, fostering an appreciation for craftsmanship, history, and beauty. We host pop-up shops on the West Coast and lead antique buying tours in France.
The Store is the culmination of a decade-long journey — and in many ways, a love story with a place. It began when our founder, Hana Ryan, a native of the Pacific Northwest and longtime design aficionado, moved to France and fell in love with the world of French art and antiques. In 2017, she launched French Art Shop, an online gallery of original antique paintings sourced directly from France.
Over the years, she built her knowledge, her taste, and a trusted network of dealers and artisans across Normandy, Provence, and Paris — friendships that remain at the heart of how she sources today. That network grew alongside the business, expanding beyond paintings into furniture and objets d'art. In 2024, French Antique Store launched.
Today, Hana runs French Antique Store on her own, sourcing each piece personally on buying trips through France and bringing them home to Washington State.

Sourcing with a conscience
We are committed to sourcing our antiques ethically and sustainably, taking into account the entire lifecycle of the objects, the people involved, and the environmental impact. We strive to build strong relationships with French dealers, honor the history and craftsmanship of each piece, and educate our clients on how to care for their antiques. We aim to give back to nature and wildlife conservation through a percentage of our proceeds.

Our dealers know that we care about their treasured finds, and our clients value our transparency about the origins and authenticity of our pieces. We provide detailed information on each item, including its history, care instructions, and condition, helping our clients find heirloom-quality pieces that maintain their value, beauty, and quality over time.
